 Admissions at a glance….

1)    Make an appointment to tour the school (with or without your child)

All prospective parents are required to attend a tour of the school in order to be considered. This is your chance to experience the school in action, and our opportunity to get to know you.

2)    Submit an application

The application should be accompanied by a non-refundable $75 fee. Applications are processed in no particular order or preference.

3)    Schedule a playdate visit for your child

Please schedule a playdate visit for your child after you submit your application.*  We would like to get to know your child and have your child get to know us and our school.

*It is possible to combine the first tour and the playdate visit as long as the parent notifies us of that intent and has requested and filled out the application beforehand.

4)    Notification of acceptance and mailing of enrollment package

Within about a week, we will send you an email notifying of acceptance as well as the enrollment documents.

5)    Deposit and enrollment documents

As soon as you have completed all documents, please submit your deposit and make an appointment with the administration to go over all documents and finalize enrollment.

Tuition (minus the deposit) is payable in three installments. The due dates for these payments are listed on the tuition schedule for each school year. We offer discounts for full paid annual tuition and sibling enrollments.

Is Pusteblume the right fit for your child?

We require that your child already has a link to the German or Spanish language before entering the program, meaning that your child is exposed on a daily basis to the chosen language by at least one caregiver (parent, grandparent, nanny, etc.) or some other immersion possibility. This is a helpful in order to minimize the amount of English usage by the children in the class room, as well as to support language exposure and instruction for the entire student population.  Parents of Pusteblume are also strongly encouraged to maintain a high level of German or Spanish instruction at home whenever possible to support the overall result.

In the best interest of our children, we also review applications with an eye to maintaining a class balance of language background, gender and age. All children enrolled in our program should be used to wearing pull-ups; we will help with potty training if desired. Children should also have a certain degree of independence (e.g., be able to change clothes, have some prior experience playing with other children in a group).

Please contact us at 212-206-1137 or email us at info@pusteblumenyc.org to receive any of the necessary forms.  You can also schedule an appointment to tour the school and receive the forms during your visit.
