Does Pusteblume provide lunch for my child?

Children bring their own lunch. The school provides healthy morning and afternoon snacks, heavily based on fruits and vegetables.

Where does my child play outside?

We are located a short walk away from several fantastic playgrounds as well as the High Line, Little Island and the Hudson River.

Our favorite spots are:

  • Corporal John A. Seravalli Playground on Hudson street between Gansevoort and Horatio streets

  • Bleecker Playground between Hudson and Bleecker streets

  • Dr. Gertrude B. Kelly Playground off 8th avenue between 16th and 17th streets

Does my child already need to speak Spanish or German to attend Pusteblume?

It really depends on the age-group you are applying for.

In the 2 year old group children are acquiring verbal skills and language and will be immersed in the target language you choose. While it is always nice to be able to support your child at home (they will want to share their new words with you) it is not absolutely necessary at this stage.

In the 3's and 4's the children are expanding their acquired  language skills and if you are newly entering your child at Pusteblume during that stage, past exposure to German/and or Spanish is desired. This background maximizes language immersion for the whole student body.
